FC 24 92 TOTS Live Kai Havertz Player Review - Cop or Flop

Team of the Season is finally here. The past month certainly has felt a bit slow but the excitement starts today as we are all in for a month long blue party. So many incredible cards released today and it’s only the first team of many!

The SBC is always quite well anticipated and today we have none other than the King himself, Kai Havertz. It is however very worth noting that these TOTS items are live items. This card could earn himself two possible upgrades based on the performance of Arsenal in their next 4 games.

You can check out the card here!

Quite interesting with this one, because in typical fashion, days after an incredible Evo has come and made that LB Havertz absolutely unreal, we now have a brand new card that shadows that Evo. So will this card be worth it? At 10 segments this one won’t be cheap so here’s hoping for a banger of a card.

I won’t compare this card’s upgrades too much based on the Evo, but the actual Winter Wildcard itself. +5s and 6s across the board for this card alongside a boost to the weak foot bringing that up to 5*. But let’s not ignore the elephant in the room here. TOTS has finally brought cards in with 3 playstyle pluses. Pinged Pass, Technical and Finesse+ all on this card. On face value, this card looks unreal.

I was a little unsure on where I wanted to play Kai. His stats suggest he would make a great CM but with the technical and finesse+ I really wanted him more in an attacking role so opted to play him in CAM. Interestingly though you can also position him at LB (You would definitely use the Winter Wildcard if you were to do that) or at Striker.

For Chemstyle here it kind of has to be the Engine here. Rounds of the dribbling nicely by putting a much needed boost to the agility and balance whilst also boosting his passing and giving a nudge to those pace stats.

This one is a very expensive SBC to complete. Coming in at roughly 1.2 million coins to complete and my main concern here is that to have completed the Winter Wildcard version you would have had to spend around 160k and then to evo that card in the recent “Fullback Swap” evo you would spend another 100k. So 260k for a near similar card but of course one is suited for the LB and the other for CAM. Still a huge price to pay, so would have to be worth it.

How did he perform in-game?

+ Dribbling, assisted by the technical playstyle + meant he maneuvered with the ball incredibly well and made a real challenge in trying to get the ball off of

+ Passing on this card was just brilliant. He setup some incredible plays and seemed to find his man with ease. Pinged pass on this as well meant he was pulling off some incredible long balls to his team

+ For a midfielder he was quite rapid which made him perfect for a box-to-box midfielder as he was able to track back and forward with great pace

+ Physical wise he was fairly decent, high strength was on show as he pressed against the opposition really well and fended players off of the ball with ease.

+ Positioning on for an attacking midfielder was really good as well. He joined in with the attack very often and was constantly available in positions to pick off a goal.

/ Shooting on this card was okay, finesse shot as you would expect was very overpowered but outside of that he doesn’t make much of finishing the ball. If you were thinking about playing him in the striker position, don’t. He’s much better suited in the heat of the midfield.

Havertz - Cop or Flop?

This one for me is really tough as someone who currently owns the recent Evo version of this card. This TOTS Havertz is a good card and it comes with the possibility to get upgraded so could potentially go up to a 94-rated card. I think right now this might be a little too early to pull the trigger on an SBC like this. Dropping 1.2 mill on Day one of this promo isn’t smart as there will be many tradable options coming that will probably play pretty similar.

Ultimately, if you have the WW Havertz and are thinking about putting him into that Evo, I would say you might be better suited to go with that option. It will save you a lot of coins and personally I think the LB card offers a lot more value to the squad than this item. So a bit of a cop-out here but if you have that LB and still use it, don’t complete this SBC. If not then maybe this one is worth the pickup as he is still an elite midfielder to use.

Verdict = COP (If you haven’t got the Winter Wildcard)
