Bundesliga TOTS vs 1st Ultimate Team Items!

We know that the Bundesliga TOTS cards are now some of the best cards in the game, if not the best in their position for some (Kane, Frimpong) but did you know how far they’ve come from to get there? From 55 rated Bronze card in the Norwegian League, to one of them starting out as a gold, this is how the Bundesliga TOTS first appeared in Ultimate Team.

Jeremie Frimpong - FIFA 20 (66>97)

Bayer Leverkusen have nearly completed the entire season unbeaten and Jeremie Frimpong is one of the main reasons why. The Dutchman has evolved into a much more attacking role in Germany with 16 G/A in the Bundesliga this season, but it was up in Scotland where he started his Ultimate Team journey. Pace has always been a huge part of his game, which is why he’s never dropped below 90 on his base item, starting out with 91 on his 66 non-rare.

Harry Kane - FIFA 13 (67>97)

A +30 for Harry Kane since his introduction to Ultimate Team, the Spurs man hadn’t yet broken into the first team when he was given this card and had only spent time in the lower leagues of English football. Fast forward 10 years and he’s England’s all time top scorer and the Premier League’s second highest scorer. He’s scored 325 goals since we first saw him in Ultimate Team and won’t be seeing that slow down any time soon.

Florian Wirtz - FIFA 21 (68>96)

If you asked Florian Wirtz to write a script for his perfect Bundesliga season, even he couldn’t have predicted this. The boyhood Leverkusen fan is about to go unbeaten in the league and potentially win the treble, he’s played a key part in their success and has come a long way from his 68 rated FIFA 21 item.

Alejandro Grimaldo - FIFA 14 (67>95)

Over on the other Bayer Leverkusen wing is Spanish fullback Alex Grimaldo, another +28 since his first item. He’s been just as, if not more effective than Frimpong this season as he’s chipped in with 21 G/A from the left flank. During his first season in Ultimate Team it was Jordi Alba who held the first team spot so it was unlikely Grimaldo would be able to break through, but he’s gone on to have an incredible career since leaving Spain.

Jamal Musiala - FIFA 22 (75>95)

Jamal Musiala was so highly rated as a youngster that he didn’t even need to start out as a bronze or silver. His first UT item was a 75 gold just 2 years ago. He’s still jumped an impressive 20 ratings in just 2 seasons despite starting out so high rated! No Bundesliga title for him or Bayern Munich this season, but can they get past Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund to win the Champions League?

Victor Boniface - FIFA 20 (55>93)

Our lowest rated starter card and the only bronze item on the list is Victor Boniface. The Nigerian striker started his professional career with Bodø/Glimt in Norway with this 55 rated bronze item. A whopping +38 increase throughout his Ultimate Team career leaves him with a 93 TOTS card in 24, which is insanely overpowered!

Xavi Simons - FIFA 22 (66>93)

Xavi Simons joined Barcelona in 2010 at just 7 years old and has been one of the most hyped up youngsters of the decade. FIFA 22 was where we first saw the Dutchman in our favourite game mode as a 66 rated non rare for PSG. Fair to say PSG could have done with him if they needed someone to create chances against Borussia Dortmund…

Lois Openda - FIFA 20 (70>93)

Openda was truly introduced to us with his Vitesse Foundations card back in FIFA 22, but it was two years prior where he saw his first card in the game. A 93 paces silver playing for Club Brugge. In fact he’s had 93 pace on every base item he’s ever had in Ultimate Team, he’s just been working on every other stat during that time!

Serhou Guirassy - FIFA 16 (67>92)

Not only have we seen a huge rating and stat change for Guirassy but also a nation change. He’s switched from representing France at youth level to now playing for Guinea and has done since 2022. He’s been in red hot form this season, banging in 25 goals in 26 matches to fire Stuttgart into the Champions League for the 24/25 season.

Alphonso Davies - FIFA 18 (67>94)

We’ve cheated a little bit by including a moments card in the list but it’s not the first 94 card that Phonzie has received. He’s now regarded as one of the world’s best Left Backs, but back in FIFA 18, defending was the lowest stat on his card. This may have been his first item, but Davies had been playing in MLS for 2 years before this, making his debut at just 15 years old!
