WOW. That is the first thing that I said when I played with this card. He feels like an Icon in every way. With his passing being so clean, you don't even need to worry about putting an engine on him. He has good enough agility and balance that he is stable enough to throw a player off. Another thing I love about him is that he stays in the midfield position. No matter what instructions I put on the other players, they always seem to move forward or behind whenever they feel like it. Guardiola stays in the right position every time. I will say that he is just a bit weak, so if you run an Anchor chem style on him you should be good. If I could compare him to anyone, he's like the taller Kante. I paid about 650k coins for him and in my opinion that is worth it for the player that you get. He's a Prime Icon, this is how they're supposed to be!
I got him from the icon swaps icon pack, my first reaction was "well, at least it´s somenoe usable", better than kluivert or nakata and I need a CDM at that moment, so it was okay for me. I started using him and from the first moment I was very happy, so this is my review.
Defence:8/10
He intercepts a lots of passes, it´s stronger enough to recover some balls and it goes wlel with headers too, he´s not makelele prime but he does the job very well.
Pass: 10/10
His passes are incredible! in 200 games he has made almost 40 assits wich for a CDM is very, very good. He made a lot of throw balls to my attackers and the long passing is very good too. Great pass, nothing more to say.
Dribling:7/10
He has a very good dribling, he won´t go throw all the defense as Ronaldinho but he can control the ball very well with pressaure.
Shooting: 3/10
Don´t shoot with him, only if you are alone against the GK, but don´t try finesse shots.
Pace:7/10
He´s fast enough for the position, he will caught fast players but he will have problems with Daniel James for example, but it´s quite good.
Physic:8/10
Pretty strong actually, when a first saw his atribbutes I wasn´t very sure if he would work good against strong atackers, but he does!
To finish I will sorry for my English, I´m from south america but I wanted to say something about him.
Guardiola's Prime Icon Card is absolutely slept on this late into the game!
Honestly, the best review I can give this card is that he plays like Kante in-game with the physicality and height to match forwards for over-the-top through balls and corners to head the ball away!
Playing him alongside a more attack-minded midfielder along the lines of De Jong or Kovacic actually leads to an insane duo! I seriously do not understand how Pep goes for such a cheap price when Petit's prime and Gullit's baby card goes for around 600k! Pep's passing also feels amazing, I never feel the urge to pass the ball off to another player to perform an incisive pass because Pep can do them just the same! I really think this is one of the most underrated cards in Fifa 20 and I hope others get to feel the quality of Pep's CDM capabilities without having to spend over a million coins on an overpriced Icon that is 'hyped' by the pros as a good card.
Pace: Is able to catch up with 95+ pace attackers! Got opponents abusing the center with TOTSSF Vardy, Adama but it actually feels a bit unfair that Guardiola is able to catch up with the amount of pace he has.
Shooting: I mean you shouldn't be shooting with a CDM regardless, but he'll definitely slot in the easy squared ball.
Passing: Again his passing is amazing, I am surprised that as such a defensive-minded CDM he is capable of the passing that he is!
Dribbling: I mean nothing to shout about but definitely gets the job done. He can dribble, hold the ball in the middle of the pitch with no problems whatsoever. We ain't looking for Neymar here. His agility, balance and reactions are really good in-game and just seem to intuitively work with the card, not wonky what so ever.
Defending: THE MAN CAN DEFEND. He steals the ball like butter, performs perfect tackles, and holds down players with ABSOLUTE EASE. Honestly, if I had to liken his defending to anything i'll have to say feels like Kante and that is extremely high praise.
Physicality: His jumping and height definitely gets the job done for goal-kicks, corners, and over-the-top throughs. His strength and aggression could be better but with an anchor, the problem is completely solved.
Definitely pair him with a more attack-minded midfielder and watch your midfield tear your opponent apart. Honestly find it hard to find someone staying for the whole game with the number of times Guardiola stops people's attacks from formulating in the first place.
Price: He is so cheap for an icon!
Defending: Absolute beast
Passing: Passes like butter
Shooting: But why are you shooting with a CDM bruh
