I think EA are experimenting with the scripting. pretty sure they tweak the scripting by adjusting the gameplay sliders (visible on offline modes in match settings, but the slides are hidden when playing online) because I've experimented with it myself and it feels SO similar. they mess up the fullback positioning, pass speed, etc etc. every week they change the settings, and gameplay feels weird each time they do it
