as far as I understand, kdb was a better long range passer, but scholes could see more passes. scholes had better shooting, but kdb is better at basiclly everything else. they are both really good midfeilders, some of the best of all time.

he's basiccly a highly skilled CDM playing behind center backs. so maldini, baresi, and possibly a few others are better defensively, but his IQ, dribbling, passing, are all better than theirs

beckenbauer was more dominant in his time. maldini was dominant, but not the best. he never won ballon dor. older players like this guy, have to be compared to players of their time and their dominance. he was probabably as dominant as messi, because messi was among the top 3 every year for over a decade. number 1 for at least half that period as well. this guy had cruyff, dino zoff, gerd muller, eusibo, and charlton across his career. he was better than most of them as well, top 3 in his era. so he's comparable to someone like muller , in the way that messi compares to mbappe or Neymar.
